I was born in the suburbs of Boston, MA, although I left there when I was two. I spent most of my childhood split between the soaring peaks of the Swiss Alps and the dark industrialism of northern England, and their scenery has left an indelible mark on my psyche and creativity.
I went to school in Sheffield, England, and earned a B.A. in Music Composition from the University of Sheffield. From there I somehow ended up returning to the stories I used to write as a child, and have spent most of the time since 2005 honing the craft of writing (though I’m a long way from a master yet).
I became severely depressed in my late teens, and this formed the basis for my first novel, “22 Scars”. The story of a teenage girl suffering through catatonic depression in the wake of a tragic upbringing, it reflects many of the feelings and traumas that I lived through myself in those early, dark days.
My sophomore effort, “The Broken”, delves deeper into the world of music that has meant so much for me for so long, whilst expanding on the themes of depression and mental illness that I’ve never truly escaped.
I currently live in Northern New Jersey with my wife and our cat, Pia; our child is currently studying music production in upstate New York. I firmly believe that without their support, I would not be here today.
